Tadashi was a lieutenant colonel for the Japanese Army. At the end of the Pacific War, Tadashi was captivated by the Soviet Army and spent the next 11 years in a concentration camp in Siberia.
When he returns home, his experience as army staff gets him in a trading company where he shows his competence by winning a bid for supplying fighter airplanes for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Although he gets entangled in company politics, he still manages to succeed in forming an alliance between Japanese and U.S.
automakers, and makes an oil-drilling project in the Middle East a success.
