This epic human story begins in the postwar reconstructing Tokyo in 1950 featuring twin sisters who live the dramatic lives together and respectively. Maho (Ai OZAKI/Makiko YOSHIDA) and Mio (Yui OZAKI/Mayuko YOSHIDA) are 17-year old twins who have the very strong bond despite the differences in personalities; Maho is a very outgoing girl while Mio is shy and dependent. One day, Maho pretends to be Mio in an occasion, which leads them to a tragic incident that will haunt the rest of their lives. In order to forget the painful experience, they part their ways, but years later, they meet again — as a wife and a lover of the same man. Based on a popular comic, this story follows the turmoil lives of the twins who search for the true meaning of life and try to reconnect with the other.
