Shuji was once a workaholic who neglected his family. However, as the current chairperson of Sunflower Farm, he lives together with juvenile delinquents and children who have been entrusted to him because of family circumstances. The kids borrow the farmland to grow vegetables, with the real goal being to reintegrate them into society.
Nozomi, a 17-year-old girl who lives on the farm, becomes close to Ren, a local high school student. However, Nozomi lies, telling him that she’s at Sunflower Farm in order to take care of her ailing grandmother. Even as she begins to care about Ren, Nozomi is unable to tell him that she lives in a “facility”.
A sad love story between two 17-year-olds is at the heart of this family drama, which realistically depicts teenage development and the adults who encourage them. Viewers will cry as well as feel rays of courage.
