Nanako is a high school student in the small town of Nagarekawa City, when one day her uncle who works at city hall begs her to become a local idol to help with the town’s PR. Together with her upperclassman Yukari (a pretty airhead) they form the group “Nagarekawa Girls” and start working hard going out to the local shopping district, appearing on the local cable TV station, and holding events (like on the roofs of department stores). These two budding stars do their best for their hometown, even though they’re barely earning 1000 yen an hour, which comes out of the townfolks’ hard-earned tax money!
